Why is this the best method?
This is the
best method because, clear self-adhesive labels can easily be applied to
your existing business cards, without damaging or destroying any printed
information or artwork.
Braille
embossed labels can also be applied to all business cards regardless of
texture. So, whether your cards have
a matt, silky, satin, glossy smoothe or rough finish, our Braille overlays
will stick for years and the corners wont curl up.
In
addition, the labels will add protection to all your printed card designs
and text.
The extra
thickness and strength means your business cards will last longer.
And finally,
because the materials we use are transparent and the Braille dots have no
colour, your card text and graphics will remain clearly visible. Thus creating, unique, multiple format,
business cards.
How many different sizes of business cards
are there?
Well, there
are two sizes in use for nearly all business cards. The first size is those which resemble a
credit card and these tend to measure approximately 85mm X 55mm.
The second
size of business card is called a Gatefold card. This type of card is twice as long as
regular sized cards and when folded in half, contains four panels. The gatefold cards tend to measure
approximately 90mm X 50mm.
The
Gatefold type cards are perfect for Brailling, because, as Braille is sized
30 font (or around three times larger than normal sized print), you can
place lots of details in Braille on this type of card.
How much Braille can I fit on a card?
Well for
example, on one side of a single card, you can place any 3 of the following
pieces of information:
- Person’s
full name
- Business
name
- Office
phone number
- Mobile
telephone number
- Email
address
- Website
address
If you
wanted to put a postal address on your business cards as well, you can put
3 pieces of info on the front of your card and using a second label, you
can easily apply a postal address to the reverse of your card.
This is why
gatefold cards are perfect for applying information in Braille, because you
can place large sized labels inside or outside of your gatefold business
card and/or, even both!
If your
company or charity uses gatefold business cards, your biz card designer
made a great decision when choosing this type of card because they have put
your organisation in a prime position to communicate as much information as
possible through your business cards.
